I was introduced to the brass band world along with my mate
Nigel (Current M.D.) by Trevor Herbertson during our school days via
Pegswood Band.

Eventually joining Ashington colliery band
along with the other gang, when the proposed amalgamation between Pegswood
and Ashington bands collapsed.
Spent most of my cornet time happily on the
back line ending up as the Repiano player until now! Due to required
changes in the cornet section I now play on the front solo cornet line. Yes
I know, time will tell!
I have for the last number of years assisted
local bands such as, Five Rivers Brass, Greggs Bakery Band and recently
Ellington Colliery Band when required and hopefully have formed a good
comradeship with their members which is still ongoing.
OH! At the bands last A.G.M. I was appointed
Band Chairman so I'm rather chuffed at that!
But the pressure is on!
So what will it be?
Death or Glory?
Yeah c'mon, couldn't resist it, somebody had
