I live in North Seaton, Ashington with my wife Pauline (Also a band
member) and son Paul. Played in brass bands for almost 40 years.
early years as a cornet player in Pegswood Colliery Band before moving
onto Eb then Bb Bass during the 1970's.
Highlight of Pegswood career was winning the CISWO finals at
Blackpool ib 1974.
I moved to Ashington in 1980 as Bb Bass player with my wife Pauline
and a number of ex-Pegaswood players after the proposed merger of the
two bands failed.
Introduced to brass bands by the "Grand Master" and future Father
in law, Bill cameron. I married Pauline Cameron in 1975 and spent all
my banding years with Pauling and brother in laws Ian and Brian.
Having spent 22 happy years with Ashington and its dedicated
personnel, I'm now looking forward to rejuvenation of the bands profie
/ success and exciting time's under the new M.D. Nigel Stedman whom I
taught as a pupil at tynedale High during the 1970's
