NORTH OF ENGLAND 1^st SECTION BAND BAND ACHIEVE 2^nd PLACE AT THE NORTH OF ENGLAND AREA COMPETEITION Wansbeck's Ashington Colliery Band is located in Ashington, a town in South Northumberland. Although the band is only 47 years old this year, it was formed from the amalgamation of different colliery bands with histories further back than that. The bulk of the band has been made up by the same members for decades and we have a very good, strong, friendly atmosphere both in and out of the Band Room. We are keen to invite all musicians, (new starters, present players or those who have not played for a while), to come and play with the band. Everyone is welcome.
